This positive piece about our president's "support for Israel" was written by Haim Saban and published in the New York Times before Mr. Obama was elected for his second term. Here is a video from the Israel Video Network showing the opposite. There may be some truths to both of them...but I'm leaning towards the video.

As the upcoming elections draw nigh, only one week away,  I am resigned to the fact that I have no one to vote for (unless I write in a candidate-say, my D. H.  I myself respectfully decline to run at this time...). There is no way I will vote for the incumbent. Except for partially funding the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system that has prevented hundreds of casualties from hundreds of missiles launched from Gaza--funding it with conditions, however--our president has shown a disdain for Israel and her leaders such as has not been seen before by an American president.  His lack of protection for the Embassy personnel in Benghazi  when desperately requested before the September 11th attack which killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, as well as his lame, ineffectual and embarrassing essentially non-response after the attack--saying that it was caused by a spontaneous protest against a "vile, disgusting video" condemning Mohammad, apologizing--again--...

Mitt Romney made his much anticipated visit to Israel after his first stop, Great Britain, where he wowed the Brits with his public gaffes on the potential security problems which might ensue at the London 2012 Olympics.  I'm sure the "Palestinian" leaders feel he made some more gaffes, when he stated that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel--" absolutely unacceptable ," according to an Arab official.  Not only did he apparently snub P.A. President Mahmoud Abbas, but he had the gall to say what everyone-except the Arabs-know: that it is Jewish and consequently Israeli culture, and may I add faith and values, which helped create the modern, technological, innovative and creative Israel extant today. Obama's not recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is right in line with the rest of his attitude and policies towards the only Jewish State.  Naomi Ragen is spot on with her article, Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me .  I didn't vote for him the first time around.  And I won't vote for him the second. President Obama spoke in emotional terms about Trayvon Martin, the boy who was tragically killed by a citizen member of a neighborhood watch. He stated that there should be an investigation of "every aspect" of the incident, and expressed his views in very personal terms. From Fox News :  “I can only imagine what these parents are going through and when I think about this boy I think about my own kids,” Mr. Obama said. He aimed his message at Mr. Martin's parents, saying, “If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon. I think they are right to expect that all of us as Americans take this with the seriousness that it deserves and we're going to get to the bottom of what happened.” Does that mean that because the boy was black, the case should be investigated? This does not seem to have been a calculated, premeditated murder. Rather, it may have been a terrible accident. The Obama campaign video seems to show how he is a friend of Israel?  Here's another video, created by the Emergency Committee for Israel which shows his words and actions throughout his presidency, and how they indicate the exact opposite (hat tip, Arlene Kushner .) It's half an hour long.  Get yourself a cup of coffee, then sit down and watch it.  It's worth the investment of your time.

An alien landing somewhere on Earth and listening to the news blasting Israel would come to the conclusion that that country must be a huge land containing billions of people, which controls the world and is the cause of all evil in it. This is the way it comes across, to hear or read about the lambasting of Israel--while countries whose regimes are truly guilty of piracy or rape, or murder and even genocide are written about, but without a hue-and-cry for de-ligitimization as is done with Israel. Cases in point include Darfur in the western Sudan, Somalia , and Indonesia , where our illustrious President just visited and towards which he gushed U. S. friendship. Meanwhile, what are these failed regions and states doing to help humanity? Because Extremely-Evil-Israel-Which-Should-Not-Exist has just sent an aid shipment with a hundred thousand doses of medicine to Haiti to help alleviate the cholera epidemic which is ravaging that unfortunate country.  That tiny Jewish home...

So Mr. Obama has visited the country in which he spent four years of his childhood.  And while there, he praised Indonesia and talked about how it has "changed" in the years since he was there.  He also somehow found time to condemn Israel for starting construction in Jerusalem while there.  But he apparently conveniently forgot to remember Indonesia's bloody history.  Could it be that he forgot the genocide committed by his childhood country, because he was a Muslim at the time--and the atrocities were committed against Christians and other non-Muslims??  (Hat tip to Arlene From Israel for the link to Sultan Knish 's full post on this subject, excerpted here). I'm probably the last one who saw this (it's at least a week old today), but it's good enough to post, even late.  And some of my readers may not have seen this, so here for your pleasure is Latma TV's latest sarcastic video, "Obama's Underwater Fantasy." The only place Israel could be accepted by the world to have a state of its own.  Right.  You should live so long.

Our president has attempted, in his pro-Ground Zero mosque statement, to maintain that his stance is such because it's a civil rights issue. Civil rights for Muslims, that is. I didn't believe it then, and I don't believe it now.  He is absolutely biased towards Muslims, whom he says should be afforded all rights to build wherever they want--but what about the Jews, whom he prohibits from building in East Jerusalem, in "the heartland of Jewish history?" That, according to the president, is verboten .  And the fact that Abbas does not want Jews living in a Palestinian state, if it is created? That's ok by Mr. Obama, the great proponent of civil rights for all , right?  Just not for Jews. President Barack Hussein Obama issued a strongly worded statement this past Friday night supporting the proposed new mosque near Ground Zero. So now, Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar has backed the building of the Muslim Center and mosque.  Because, he says, Muslims have the right to worship wherever they want and build their houses of worship wherever they want, just like "Christians build their churches and Israelis build their holy places." Allowing a mosque led by a seemingly anti-American Imam who does not condemn terrorism and blames the United States as contributing to 9/11, without knowing from where and how this proposed 13-story building is being funded, is a ridiculously bad idea. And now our great president is approving of its building, citing our need for religious tolerance. As David Pryce-Jones so aptly states in his excellent article Apologist in Chief (emphasis mine): This [allowing Muslims religious freedom] is obviously true, but a mosque in this site of mass murder committed by Muslims is not about freedom of worship, it is a statement of supremacy and conquest. (nablopomo day 17) Congressman Mike Pence, speaking at the House with regard to recognizing the Turkish massacre of the Armenians , has the courage to speak up about the flotilla incident and question Obama's attitude.  Whose side is president Obama on? The wrong side, which will bring the world instability and war, not  justice and peace.  President Obama is no friend to Israel.  And sadly, no friend to a strong and moral America.

It had been evident from the start--from the beginning of the campaign when we began learning about that hitherto unknown entity called Barack Hussein Obama--that he was not totally enamored with Israel.
