Already the Next HH...

I can't believe I haven't posted since the last Haveil Havalim, but it's true--I have not had the time, nor the energy, and it's already time to announce the next HH, #300.  It is up and running at To Kiss a Mezuzah , and one post of yours truly is in it. Don't get me wrong--working is great, but it has its perils.  And one of the more serious ones is... not blogging!  Somehow I will have to rectify that...

The Latest Haveil Havalim is Up

The latest and newest Jewish Blog Carnival, Haveil Havalim (for those readers with no knowledge of Hebrew, the title translates to "Vanity of Vanities") #287 is up and running at Cosmic X .  Yours truly is not in it, but that is because I have not been blogging lately.  It is still chock full o' great articles, just waiting for your perusal, so, to paraphrase the title of yesterday's Torah portion, Lech Lecha ("go forth for yourself") to Cosmic X and read 'em!

Just Joined "The Kehila!"

There is a new internet community in town, of Jewish and Israel bloggers! The Kehila* was founded by Eric, of The Israel Situation blog . In Eric's own words,  The idea is that we each agree to help each other out and promote each other’s blogs . . . the challenge is open to anyone with an active Jewish/Israel themed blog.  It can be personal or professional.  There are no big rules.  I don’t plan to kick anyone out.  It is not my community, after all, it belongs to each person who joins. Let's all help each other, and grow stronger by doing so.  We all can, by working together, not only increase traffic to each of our blogs and generate greater reader interest and comments in the process, but also create a synergy that would not be possible separately.  Remember, " The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts !" I personally think that this is a great idea, and I am proud to be a member. If you fit the parameters, you should be, too! *Ke...

The 2nd Annual Jewish Bloggers Convention

I am having a great time just participating in the chat room, virtually 'meeting' other bloggers by watching the live webcast and chatting with other bloggers. I am seeing bloggers whose blogs I read, and I wish there were some way we could have video set-ups for each chat-room member so if we choose, we could see and be seen (anonymity, be gone!). Right now, different bloggers are being introduced, while the general hevre went to have dinner (I ran to get my oatmeal breakfast & more coffee)! Benji Lovitt of What War Zone is about to to a stand-up; they are all coming back from dinner now... Benji is funny, no question about it. Stand up comedy is serious business, and it is TOUGH. Will try to update this as it is happening (Jameel, thanks for setting a precedent!); it is 8:03 p.m. Israel time, and Benji is into his act: talking about the funnyness (is that a word?) of the Hebrew language for olim chadashim... Ron Dermer speaking now--discussing the changing paradigm o...
