The Decline of Civilization

The world is going in the wrong direction.  The source of terror is not named and thus tolerated, for if you are afraid to name your enemy, the enemy will win. The ridiculous one-sided so-called "peace process" and the "two-state solution" idiocy are another example.  Israel is supposed to show good faith by certain measures--stopping settlements, releasing 104 long-time Islamist prisoners guilty of murder of civilians including women, children--sometimes almost entire families--but the Arabs are not required to show their good faith by, say, even beginning by accepting the fact of the existence and permanence of the Jewish state.  To read the Washington newspapers this week, which are representative, Israeli and Palestinian negotiators are meeting under the auspices of the American government to make Palestine. The Palestinians and Secretary of State John Kerry allowed it to be known that the Israelis were asked/pushed/threatened to provide a prisoner rele...

How Dare the World Question Israel's Legitimacy? What About, Say, Jordan's?!

Image
Israel for some reason (we savants know why) is being dissed and dismissed by the entire world.  No other country's legitimacy is ever questioned. Well, do you have any idea how Jordan came into being? Not by immigrants who traveled under terrible and dangerous conditions, to get to the land of their forefathers, a land which was underpopulated and a wasteland in the 1800s and 1900s during its time as part of the Ottoman Empire, with some areas barren desert and other areas malaria-riddled swamps.  These immigrants toiled night and day exhaustively to drain the swamps and till the land and make the desert bloom. They re-created with their own blood, sweat and tears --and G-d's help--because the re-creation of the State of Israel is nothing less than a miracle--a civilized, thriving, rich land where the idea was that their people--the most maligned people in the world, victims of racism and hatred and expelled from many countries--could hopefully in the future live in peace...

Annexing Judea and Samaria: That Energizes Me

Image
The theme for today for NaBloPoMo is, 'at what time of the day do I have the most energy or feel the most productive?'  Well ("never begin a sentence with 'well'"), since I went to bed very late yesterday--Scrabble and Words with Friends can do that to you--I am not energetic today nor am I productive (read: my D. H. is preparing for Shabbat; he loves to cook, so no problemo).  Wait, I did carry the laundry which I did yesterday all the way up the stairs (3 flights) to the bedroom, where it now sits, crumpled up and unfolded, in a heap on the bed.  It's ok--mainly underwear, nobody sees it. But generally, it's during the morning hours that I have more energy.  When I was a teenager--hard to remember that far back--I thought I was a "night person." that was probably baloney.  I just did what every other teenager does, stay up late either to study, or party.  Actually, I wasn't a party person, so the latter does not apply to moi. Seriou...

Ridiculous, and Unacceptable

Image
Abbas made his 'moving' speech before the U. N., and from certain nations, received a standing ovation. Netanyahu spoke, and as far as I am concerned, was too conciliatory and open-armed: 'We are for a two-state solution if you will talk peace and recognize the Jewish State'is basically a summation of what he said. Bibi was much better on Meet The Press on Sunday--he didn't David Gregory "throw him under the bus" the way he was questioning him. Look, think about this: what are the so-called 'Palestinians' ( everyone who lived in the area called 'Palestine' before the State of Israel is a 'Palestinian,' including the Jews) saying? Abbas said in his speech that The core issue here is that the Israeli government refuses to commit to terms of reference for the negotiations that are based on international law and United Nations resolutions, and that it frantically continues to intensify building of settlements on the territory of...

Contemplating Palestine, RSD/CRPS, and Retirement

Image
I'm going through Writer's Blog, er, Block.  Have been thinking that since Sept. 6th, I haven't posted a thing.  And things are happening.  Bad Things . And Good Things .  First, the bad--at least, it doesn't bode well for Israel and the free world--that the so-called "Palestinians" are appealing to the U. N. for statehood , G-d help us.  And whom do they choose as their honored spokesman? This peace-loving individual, seen in full here on Palestinian Media Watch  (hat tip, Yael ): Mother of 4 terrorist murderers chosen by the PA to launch statehood campaign by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik The Palestinian Authority chose the mother of 4 terrorist murderers, one of whom killed seven Israeli civilians and attempted to killed twelve others, as the person to launch their statehood campaign with the UN. In a widely publicized event, the PA had Latifa Abu Hmeid lead the procession to the UN offices in Ramallah and to hand over a letter for...

YES Operation, NO Pali State (=YES to Annexation)

I am typing this with my right hand and only one finger of my left.  After thirty years (yes, you read that right: three-zero years) of living with pressure and tingling and numbness and lately a burning pain in my wrist and fingers, I finally had my carpal-tunnel release operation done on my left hand--my dominant hand--this morning.  The local hasn't worn off yet, so I'm not sure what I will feel when it does.  Or maybe it already did, and the Vicodin has kicked in.  And that's what's causing my nice side effect of...nausea. Yuck. Which has nothing to do with the price of noodles, or rather the price of Israel's future secure existence as the Jewish State in the Middle East, otherwise known to some as ' the solution to the Israeli-"Palestinian" conflict' , which is also known to others (-actually the vast majority of the duped world population out there) as "ending the occupation." Okay, being that I was just operated on I'm a ...

"Patronizing American Lectures...Are Now Obscene"

Unity Coalition for Israel reprinted a scathing article by George F. Wills published on WashingtonPost.com, denouncing president Obama's patronizing statement that "Israel should take risks for peace."  That's all Israel has been doing for decades, since its inception--taking risks for peace. In the intifada that began in 2000, Palestinian terrorism killed more than 1,000 Israelis. As a portion of U.S. population, that would be 42,000, approaching the toll of America's eight years in Vietnam. During the onslaught, which began 10 Septembers ago, Israeli parents sending two children to a school would put them on separate buses to decrease the chance that neither would return for dinner. Surely most Americans can imagine, even if their tone-deaf leaders cannot, how grating it is when those leaders lecture Israel on the need to take “risks for peace.” Somehow or other world leaders and spokesmen keep spouting ridiculous statements about Israel vis a vi...

Honest Questions about Israel and Palestine

A man named Marcus Henderson Wilder who walked 600 miles through Spain at age 69, is apparently publishing a book on "Israel and Palestine." He asked honest questions about the region and its history, which he researched. Answers to some of these questions, called " Israel and Palestine Chapter One ", are on his website. I don't know what, if any, connection he has or has had with Israel, but he 'discovered' facts which the world at large does not recognize, in its vilification of and blame on Israel for the situation of the Arabs vis-a-vis the Jewish State. Seems that many more should read this when his book is published in April. Here is an excerpt: Naked Data© The 1844 census of Jerusalem found 7120 Jews...5760 Muslims...3390 Christians. In 1869, Mark Twain wrote of the emptiness of the land, of traveling all day without seeing a human being on the roads or in the countryside. Mark Twain wrote of Arab sloth and filth and flies. In the 1880s, Am...

The 'Nation of Palestine': Merely a Myth

I didn't put up my "Dept. of Redundancy Dept." pic by accident, but rather by design. In this blog, I find myself repeating myself and repeating myself (and, um, repeating myself). I've written about the legitimacy of the Jews' right to the Land of Israel and the BIG LIE of the so-called "Palestinians" many times, case in point, here , back in November of '07. So I decided to post again a related excerpt of an article from Myths and Facts , about the BIG LIE (don't like that? Okay, call it a HUMONGOUS UNTRUTH) perpetrated by the Arabs after June 1967, when they lost yet another war that they had started against Israel. It is called " Palestinians- Peoplehood Based on a Big Lie " by Eli E. Hertz, from March 31, 2008: The Palestinians claim that they are an ancient and indigenous people fails to stand up to historic scrutiny. Most Palestinian Arabs were newcomers to British Mandate Palestine . Until the 1967 Six-Day War made it exp...
