Rock Concert

Got off the phone with my daughter in Israel just three hours ago.  Problem with that is, that it was 2:45 a.m. for her when she called me.  She had just arrived home from a rock concert in Petach Tikva in honor of Yom haStudent (Student Day).  She was on a 'high' from having gone out with friends, and getting a ride all the way home--so that she didn't have to call a cab or worse, wheel herself home the rest of the way in the dark. Here are some of the bands which played there.  Infected Mushroom , a psychedelic band, was the featured one.  I had never heard of them before speaking with my daughter a day or two ago.  What do I know? Here are two songs of one of the opening bands, Mashina .  Below, Infected Mushroom (...why am I not hungry anymore?).  Personally, Mashina is more my style...

Concert Today!

(nablopomo day 6) For the first time in at least one year--probably longer than that--we are going to a concert.  When I say "concert," I mean classical music (you generally will not find me at a rock concert, although I do listen to rock, folk, and other genre).  We are going to one of the last concerts of the conductor Jeffrey Kahane of the CSO.  The program is the two Ms, at opposite ends of the spectrum, almost: Mahler and Mozart.  Those of you who are classical music buffs will know what I mean... Anyway, I have to get ready, so. . . will be back at you later.

Find a Happy Place*: The Voca People (no monkeys)

The recent horrific events at Ft. Hood, Texas and everything else that is going on in the world have thrown me off kilter. I need to get back to the Good, the Fun, and the Silly & Talented. Here's another video by (drum roll, please) -- The Voca People . (I wrote about them this past May, here .) If the every nation worked on kindness and generosity to others, getting " Geshmack " divrei Torah and making people laugh with great performances by talented people, THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE! (You know, with the two of us still unemployed, I really could use some royalties and commission from these free plugs...could someone--anyone--please support this blog??!) (*btw, Haveil Havalim is UP, at Jack's .)
