Tikkun Olam

(nablopomo day 4) Okay, I have to get away from this computer (BAD computer! BAD computer!) and start preparing for Shabbat: not much to do, as D.H. is doing most of the cooking, the house is clean (Baruch Hashem), the beds are made, and we will defrost my home-baked challah soon.  I do have laundry to do, and some weeding in our vegetable garden (will post about that at a later date).  I spoke to my older son (Arnold Mayergi and his lovely wife Hardal, due b'ezrat Hashem this month!!!) and everything is well, thank G-d. So I would like to end this week with a video worth watching, and a T-shirt worth printing.  I wish all my readers a warm Shabbat Shalom, and for those of you who are not obligated to observe the Sabbath, have a great weekend! What’s all the ruckus about in articles I am reading regarding the font called “ Comic Sans MS* ?” It seems that everyone is railing against it, vilifying it, and advocating banning it. This is starting to make me nervous, because I myself can not understand what all the fuss is about. Does that mean that I am not ‘with it?’ Not ‘cool?’ Have pedestrian tastes? Unintellectual? Or just plain stupid? I was afraid to think about it, because I sensed in myself leanings towards--horrors— liking Comic Sans! I use it to email readers of my blog, for one thing. I mean, it seems like a friendly font to me. So I did what any person would do--I quickly researched the history (it’s short) and origins of Comic Sans Serif, to see if that knowledge would enlighten me as to all the brouhaha. So, some of you want to show your displeasure with that terrible, inhumanitarian, terrorist state of Israel by boycotting Israeli industries or products? Because Israel, of course, has only done bad things to the so-called Palestinians, wait--and I forgot the rest of the world--it hasn't done much of anything for them, either. Israel is just always-well- there- with it's annoying Zionism, annoying smart people, annoying love of life. Gosh, they're so annoying , it's no wonder you want to boycott them! So, good riddance, I say! Go, boycott Israel (just hope you enjoy moving back into your cave and starting your new life hunting and gathering.)
