Brave Daniel...Almost in the Lion's Den, Again.

Do you remember the lone high school student "Daniel," who went into a pro-Palestinian demonstration carrying a huge Israeli flag after the Mavi Marmara incident in 2010?  I wrote about him and posted the video in 2010, here, and here.

He is bravely continuing  his activism again: by videotaping a message, in Farsi, to Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in support of Israel and the Jewish people.  Daniel is from Persian (Iranian) descent, and his message in the language of the Iranian people is very powerful.  (Thank you to A Soldier's Mother for alerting us to this).


First, in case you haven't seen it, here is the video of the interview of Daniel's infiltration into that anti-Israel demonstration, and the pro-Israel rally which was held six days later.





Below is his message to the Iranian people.  From what I know, the Iranian people do not have a hatred of Israel: just their government and religious leaders do, and have threatened to annihilate her (G-d forbid).

We hope the people of Iran will get to see this video, and know that the Jewish people have no animosity towards them; and that Israel is here to stay.

For the better part of a year, I've had an on-again, off-again debate with my D.H. as to the "correct" adjective in the children's finger-play nursery rhyme, "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider" (now you know which one I favor). My D. The End. Is there a Beginning...?

This is my first post back on Tikkun Olam since April 23rd, 2015. It does not feel real. Why is it that we never think we will ever have a JOLT in our lives that will change the entire life course we have been traveling? We continue on, day by day, complacent, even in the face of serious illness--believing that what we are living is the only reality; that it is immutable, that it is PHYSICAL: you can touch it, feel it, and it will continue to be there for you tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow... Some Recent Israeli Accomplishments in her 67 Years: Independence Day 2015
