Kosher Cameras? What is the Haredi World Coming To?

A friend of mine posted an ad on Facebook which really confused me.  Apparently some "gedolim" (yeah, right) decided that most cameras aren't "kosher," because they are capable of...taking videos?

I don't have a clue what that means.  My friend suggested--wryly--that these cameras probably don't take pictures of women's faces...

 

What is 'unkosher' about videos? Is this what Haredi Judaism is coming to?  I'm worried that some Ba'alei Teshuva and some gerim might actually believe this.

The End. Is there a Beginning...?

This is my first post back on Tikkun Olam since April 23rd, 2015. It does not feel real. Why is it that we never think we will ever have a JOLT in our lives that will change the entire life course we have been traveling? A Beautiful Name for a Beautiful Soul

(nablopomo day 29) I was in a rush to get my post and pictures in yesterday, so I didn't pontificate on the significance of the name "Naomi." I remember, when my first Israeli grandson was born to my younger son, Nathaniel Blumenstein, I waxed eloquent ( or rather, my son did--I just copied and pasted his stuff!) on the meaning and significance of his name, Gavriel (which is translated as "Gabriel" in English) on my post back in November '08 after his birth, here .
