The World Hates the Jews.

I'm trying to rationalize this out, and that is the only conclusion I can arrive at. A psychologist would have a field day with this. Why else would the world rail against Israel for fighting back to protect its citizens? Why else would the world accuse Israel of using "disproportionate force?" Why else would the world cry out that Israel is ' indiscriminately killing civilians?' Why else are there 'demonstrations' against Israel's offensive in Gaza?

I'll tell you what is disproportionate response. What is disproportionate is the world's reaction to tiny Israel making a belated attempt to defend itself and prevent further murder of its own civilian population.

The world's response (with the exception of the United States') is generally negative towards anything Israel does to defend itself. It's outrageous. Where was this world when Hamas was lobbing rockets into Sderot? When Hizbollah was firing Katyushas into northern Israel? Where was the world in their public outrage during the two intifadas? I'll tell you where: there was none. But when Israel mobilizes and finally does something, everyone seems to wake up. It must be because they love us so much.

What is amazing now is that the European Union (except for France. What else is new) seems to be tacitly supporting Israel's initiative. I almost fell off my chair when I read that bit of news.

Where was the world's outrage and condemnation at Hamas' setting up rocket launching pads and weapons storage in civilian homes and hospitals. The truth is, they--Hamas--are solely responsible for the state of their citizens and are deliberately endangering them by their actions.

To the world at large, "disproportionate response" refers to Israel merely defending itself and attempting to prevent another Jewish bloodbath--plain and simple. Do not delude yourselves: Israel hatred is Jew hatred - they are one and the same. Certainly it is, in the Arabs' eyes--they are now threatening to target Jews all over the world. It seems that the only Jew the world can tolerate, is the Ghetto Jew. A strong Jew who fights back makes them nervous. . .

This JWR article explains the situation very well. Read it, and show it to everyone (hat tip, my son: Nathaniel Blumenstien). Here is an excerpt:
The numbers reported [my note: of Palestinians killed ] indicate that there was no clear intent to inflict disproportionate collateral civilian casualties. What is critical from the standpoint of international law is that if the attempt has been made "to minimize civilian damage, then even a strike that causes large amounts of damage - but is directed at a target with very large military value - would be lawful."

What is disproportionate and horrendous is the Hamas terrorist organization specifically targeting civilians in Israel and Islamic Terrorists targeting Jews and Israelis (and Americans as well) around the world, such as last month in Mumbai. They were committing war crimes and no one in the international community was doing a thing to stop them.

Here's a contrast for you: four leading Rabbis issued a halakhic ruling that it is permissible in Torah law toretaliate against rocket launching sites in civilian areas:
The ruling states as follows: “When a population living near a Jewish town sends bombs at the Jewish town with the purpose of killing and destroying Jewish existence there, it is permitted, according to Jewish Law, to fire shells and bombs at the firing sites, even if they are populated by civilians.
Tell me, when was the last time another country or religion even discussed the moral implications of defending oneself against attack? When was the last time a country warned the civilians who were living among the launching pads and weapons caches and terrorists? Did they do that in the bombing of Dresden in World War II?? The United States made a decision in World War II, and bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. How many civilians were killed then? What's worse, is that they were targeted. How about that for a "disproportionate response?"

Israel is not doing that. All she wants is to live in peace. It's the Arabs who want war. They don't blink an eye when Hamas terrorist leaders disguise themselves as doctors and hide in hospitals. Or build launching pads in civilians' basements. Or fire missiles into kindergartens.

The Jews, on the other hand, always search their souls about the treatment of others. That is what makes Judaism one of the most moral religions existing today among the religions of the world.

On the other hand, sometimes I fear we think too much of others and not enough about saving ourselves. This problem Israel is facing is an existential problem, and we need to ensure our survival as a people and as a Jewish State.

Since I wrote the above, the IDF ground war began motzai Shabbat (Saturday night). My youngest daughter is being mobilized. Please pray for her and all the soldiers fighting for the survival of the tiny nation of Israel, the only homeland for the Jewish People.

Prayer for the soldiers of the Israel Defense Force (Hebrew, then English below):

Prayer for Members of the Israel Defense Force

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our God from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May Hashem cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your God, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

Now let us respond: Amen.

My your daughter return safely and quickly. May we see peace in our time. Until then, we'll continue to daven for her and all the other Tzahal members.

Well said. May your daughter and all of the other soldiers in Tzahal be successful in their mission and return home safely and speedily.

I heard this morning on the radio that Rav Shmuel Eliyahu (son of Rav Mordechai Elilyahu) composed a new tefila to be said for our soldiers and our brothers living in the south of Israel. It is a very moving tefila but I have no clue how to get a hold of the words again. The link may be worthwhile to find. Chazak v'amatz.
Condemnation of Israel isn't universal even in the Middle East. See here. I think everyone is getting tired of Hamas.

I will pray for your daughter's safe return.

queeniesmom: Thank you so much for davening for all the chayalim & my daughter as well.
And thank you for visiting my blog. I went to yours, but couldn't find any posts. But, "long guyland!" I love it. From Long Guyland City, myself.

BB: Thank you, and AMEN, KEN YEHI RATZON. To find the tefilah, you can probably Google 'Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu' and 'new prayer for south of Israel,' or probably something a lot shorter (I'm not great on 'key words!')

Laura: Hey, thanks for visiting. People who secretly support Israel are often afraid to say it publicly; it's not politically correct. It's more politically correct to support the 'downtrodden,' 'poor,' 'oppresed' Palestinians-er-ARABS. I'm sick and tired of the BIG LIE. There IS no Palestine, and there WAS no Palestine. It was an insult given to the Jews by the Romans upon conquering Judea. Never was under Arab rule. And if those Arabs are downtrodden, it is the fault of their own rulers, and THEY are responsible, NOT Israel.
I will check out your link.

And, (I'm cooled down now)all your prayers for my daughter and all the IDF soldiers are gratefully accepted.

Hi again,
Never got past setting up to blog. Not enough time in the day between kids, working and other family commitments.

Re: Palestinians- no one wants to recognize the fact that those who were "displaced" were fellahin (arab equivelent to serfs)and had no ownership to the land. They worked the land for absentee landlords, who were happy to take jewish money for this land.

If we're going to talk about displacement and compensation, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Yemen and all the other Arab contries that nationalized Jewish businesses, bank accounts and personal property must be open to discussion. Somehow I think they will owe us money! Unfortuately, too many of that generation is dead and with them went all the documentation. My family has nothing that proves what Nasser nationalized. they were just happy to get out alive. I think this is true of most of the jews from the Arab world.

queeniesmom: Correct. Nobody knows (read: cares) or will admit to knowledge of the Jewish refugees who were forced out of Arab lands with little more than the clothes on their backs, their worldly possessions confiscated, and why? Because they attacked the governments under which they were living? Because they treated their Arab neighbors badly? No, because they were Jews.

The state of Israel is evil. Its leaders are evil. Its actions are evil. The majority of its people are not.

Israel is committing the most atrocious war crimes to never be punished or even officially reprimanded in history.

Anon: I am willing to dialogue with you; first, thank you for visiting--how did you find out about my blog?
You say that the state of Israel is "evil." Please explain how: what does Israel do for you to call it that?
I will await your answer.

The truth is that the Saviour of the world, Jesus Christ came to the world as a Jew. God chose the Hebrews for His only Begotten Son to be born in this world, conceived by the Holy Spirit, through Mary and Joseph to redeem mankind.

Israel is special to God from the beginning, and what God says in His Words, who are we to argue. Jesus Christ is the ultimate passover lamb for mankind. He came, He died, and He rose again, and for those who believed in His Message of Salvation, they received the promised Holy Spirit who guides us to know all truths. Our heart and eyes are opened to see clearly, and that is how and why believers of Jesus Christ all over the world regardless of race, whether Asian, Caucasian, Middle Eastern, Indian or African love the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

The supernatural hatred against the nation of Israel and the Jewish people stem from the ultimate enemy of God, Satan. Our lives are merely a result of our spirits. If our spirits are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit, then the fruit of the Spirit is present in our lives, i.e. love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control (Galatians 5:22); but if our spirits remained of the flesh, then the opposites to the fruit of the Spirit is self evident, i.e hatred, anger, disruption, impatience, unkind, no goodness, unfaithfulness, harsh (brutal, unmerciful, inconsiderate, inhumane, bad tempered), lack of self control.

Think about it. Look at all the problems in the world, and you can see these as a manifestation through peoples' lives. The world camouflage these truths by calling it religion, but the real fundamental truth is that all evil and all good stem from the HEARTS of people. If the hearts of people are transformed by the power of God's Spirit (The Holy Spirit), then our sinful nature will cease its original life, but it the hearts of people remained unchanged by the power of God's Spirit, then the original sinful nature remains. That is why people of the world are easily susceptible to ALL of the opposites of the fruit of the Spirit like hatred, anger, disruption, impatience, unkind, no goodness, unfaithfulness, harsh (brutal, unmerciful, inconsiderate, inhumane, bad tempered) and lack of self control.

The fights we see today between Muslims and Jews and Christians is the result of The Oldest family feud since the beginning, Ishmael and Isaac; and because God gave Isaac to Abraham, and through His seeds we are the children of the promise, envy, jealousy, hatred arisen from Ishmael against Isaac, and this conflict had never stopped. When we delve in these emotions of envy, jealousy and anger, it is easy for the enemy of God, Satan to latch on to these emotions and fuel them some more.

So, the supernatural hatred against Israel and Jews is ACTUALLY a hated against God's children, and God's chosen nation of Israel as part of His ultimate plan for the whole world when Jesus Christ comes back again to judge all nations, and all living and the dead.

In another perspective, people live by either the Spirit of God (born again by the power of the Holy Spirit), or by the spirit of flesh, which is sin and leads to death. It is very unfortunately that all of us had inherited this sinful nature because of Adam's sin, and NOT by our own fault. And that is why God goes all out to bring us salvation through Jesus Christ, simply because He is a God full of compassion, mercy, kindness, love, and grace. His heart is full of mercy, compassion.

You see, by our own efforts we simply can not redeem ourselves, because our sinful nature is "so by default". But by simply believing in Jesus Christ, our lives are supernaturally transformed.

My life is a testimony of this power of the Holy Spirit.

We, gentiles are grafted into the promise of Abraham's seed through Jesus Christ. We are the branches grafted into the olive tree. Jews are the natural branches in the olive tree. Jews are so dearly loved by God.

An Asian Christian
