Truth Through Humor

I received this in an email from a friend in Tzfat. Depressing, but although it is a joke, it exemplifies how the media would cover such a story:
"A man in Paris saw a pit bull attacking a toddler. He killed the pit bull and saved the child's life. Reporters swarmed the fellow to cover the story.... "Tell us! What's your name? All Paris will love you! Tomorrow's headline will be: 'Paris Hero Saves Girl from Vicious Dog!'" The guy says, "But I'm not from Paris." Reporters: "That's OK. Then the whole of France will love you and tomorrow's headline will read: 'French Hero Saves Girl from Vicious Dog"! The guy says, "I'm not from France, either." Reporters: "That's OK also. All Europe will love you. Tomorrow's headlines will shout: 'Europe's Hero Saves Girl from Vicious Dog!'" The guy says, "I'm not from Europe, either." Reporters: "So, where ARE you from?" The guy says, "I'm from Israel." Reporters: "OK... Then tomorrow's headlines will proclaim to the world: "Jew Kills Girl's Dog"! Now you understand media...."

Look at the bright side, at least the world recognizes that Israelis are Jewish. I wish the Israelis would do the same of themselves.

How sad and how true!
Too bad we can't change this.

Sabra:
What can we do? We can continue to promote TRUTH and try to teach the Israelis how to MARKET themselves. Israel is great in R&D, but lousy in MARKETING, and the whole information explosion is about marketing.
Nemo & Kasamba:
Hahah. Very funny, but SO SAD, because it's SO TRUE. So, we need to do something about that, right? Making Aliyah is one of the things a proud Western Jew can do. Help change the demographics. Might post this...
Socialworker/frustratedMom:
But we CAN change it, albeit more slowly than we might like; never give up!
